4/11/16

The Jerry Crews Invitational took place Friday, April 8th as both the Liberty North boy and girl track and field programs journeyed to their “home away from home” in the NKC District Athletic Complex. Oak Park played host. The mightiest of winds were a blowing and for the first time in complex’s history, the pole vault was cancelled due to constant high winds!

The Eagle athletes showed great resolve fighting against the wind and again displayed great teamwork that showed in the final results.

On the track:

The girl’s 4x800 team of Emma Reavis, Sydney Ware, Madi Graham, and Kelsey Cox took 5th with a 10:39.79 time.

The boy’s 4x800 team of Garrett Burns, Nathan Stinson, JD Braden and Brandon Drew took 2nd with a time of 8:44.26!

In the girl’s 100-meter dash, Koryn Dale PR’d with a 13.20 and took 8th! Kelsey Templeton dashed to a new school record with a 12.77! Way to be, Kelsey!

The boy’s 4x100 didn’t miss a beat when a late substitution inserted Dante Edwards on the squad. He and Anthony Taylor, Tyler Lamport and Jon Redmond took the GOLD with a 43.85 time!

Tyler Beck ran a 54.34 and placed 7th in the 400 meters.

The boys racked up major points in the 800 meters as all three Eagles placed. Nathan Stinson took 8th with a time of 2:09.83. Garrett Burns ran a 2:06.83 good for 4th overall! And Brandon Drew took home the SILVER with an 800 time of 2:05.61!
